How it Works

Detecting Cancer Early is vital to saving lives

CancerCheck's Trucheck™ is a non-invasive blood test developed through extensive and collaborative international research, tested and validated on over 57,000 individuals. This innovative test aims to detect various cancers in asymptomatic individuals at an early stage. It works by detecting "Circulating Tumor Cells" (CTCs), which are cancer cells that have escaped from tumors into the bloodstream, using a safe, simple and quick blood draw.

1. Consultation

The journey begins with an initial consultation with CancerCheck’s medical team to assess your suitability for the Trucheck test. This consultation, conducted via an online video call or phone call, allows our healthcare professionals to review your medical history, discuss any potential risk factors, and address your concerns. This thorough evaluation ensures that the Trucheck test is appropriate for your specific health profile.

2. Get Checked

Once deemed eligible, you’ll proceed to a blood draw at one of CancerCheck’s designated locations. The Trucheck™ test involves collecting a blood sample to detect circulating tumor cells (CTCs) associated with over 70 types of cancer. The procedure is straightforward and minimally invasive, performed by trained phlebotomists to ensure comfort and accuracy. The collected sample is then securely transported to a specialised laboratory for analysis.

After the laboratory processes your blood sample, which typically takes 12 to 14 working days, you’ll receive a call to discuss your results. This personalised communication ensures you understand the findings and their implications. The medical team will provide a comprehensive explanation, answer any questions, and offer guidance on the next steps, regardless of the outcome.

4. Care Pathways

In the event of a positive CTC detected signal, CancerCheck’s Medical Director will develop a personalised care pathway tailored to your needs. This plan includes coordinating further diagnostic procedures, such as MRI or CT scans, to identify additional diagnostic pathways. Notably, the cost of the initial MRI or CT scan is included in the initial test fee, ensuring seamless and comprehensive care without unexpected expenses. Throughout this process, the CancerCheck team provides continuous support. This structured approach ensures that individuals receive thorough evaluation, accurate testing, timely results, and, if necessary, a clear and supportive pathway for further care.
